Οι εκπαιδευτές που έχουμε μεικτές τάξεις ή τάξεις μεταναστών τείνουμε να δεχόμαστε ότι η κοινωνική ένταξη των εκπαιδευόμενων είναι κι αυτό μια πτυχή του ρόλου μας. Για την εκπληρώσουμε όμως, χρειάζεται γα ξεκαθαρίσουμε το πώς αντιλαμβανόμαστε την ένταξη και να διερευνήσουμε τις πρακτικές της επιπτώσεις στην εκπαιδευτική διαδικασία. Τόσο όμως στις συζητήσεις μας όσο και στη βιβλιογραφία, παρατηρείται ασυμφωνία και έλλειψη σαφήνειας σχετικά με την έννοια της ένταξης. Ως εκ τούτου, το άρθρο αυτό στοχεύει στο να αναπτύξει ένα σαφές θεωρητικό πλαίσιο για την ένταξη και να εντοπίσει τις γνώσεις, δεξιότητες και στάσεις που συνδράμουν στην επίτευξη της. Τέλος, βασισμένο σε ποιοτική έρευνα, εντοπίζει τις μεθόδους με τις οποίες εκπαιδευτές και φορείς μπορούν να βοηθήσουν τους εκπαιδευόμενους τους στην κατάκτηση αυτών των μαθησιακών στόχων, ώστε να βρεθούν πιο κοντά στην κοινωνική ένταξη.
