Έργα τέχνης με αισθητική αξία μπορούν να αξιοποιηθούν στην ενδυνάμωση της κριτικής σκέψης μαθητών σε διάφορα περιβαλλοντικά θέματα, ενδυναμώνοντας παράλληλα την εκπαιδευτική διαδικασία μέσω της μετασχηματίζουσας μάθησης. Με την παρούσα εργασία επιχειρείται η παρουσίαση της μεθόδου – τεχνικής αξιοποίησης έργων τέχνης προσαρμοσμένη στις ανάγκες της περιβαλλοντικής εκπαίδευσης. Οι μαθητές έχουν έτσι τη δυνατότητα να αναθεωρήσουν - εμπλουτίσουν τις απόψεις τους μέσα από την αισθητική εμπειρία της επαφής τους με την τέχνη. Η προτεινόμενη μέθοδος μπορεί να υλοποιηθεί σε έξι (6) στάδια και οι ομάδες των μαθητών αναπτύσσοντας την κριτική τους σκέψη, να βελτιώσουν και να αναθεωρήσουν την αρχική άποψή τους για συγκεκριμένο περιβαλλοντικό θέμα αντιμετωπίζοντας προκαταλήψεις, επαναξιολογώντας στερεότυπα και τεκμηριώνοντας τις απόψεις τους με επιχειρήματα καθιστώντας τη μέθοδο αποτελεσματική συμβάλλοντας στη διαμόρφωση περιβαλλοντικής συνείδησης.
