Ionian Civil Law and the prof ile of Agricultural prìvate property, during the English Occupation Perìod, in the Ionian Islands,1815-1865

The objective of this study is to look into and analyse the status of the land relations, which were shaped and prevailed during the English Occupation period (1815-1864) in the Ionian Islands (Eptanesia). These land relations and the agricultural matter resulted from the Ionian Civil Law, legislated in the early years of the "Protection", has as a consequence the maintenance and validation of serious of remnants of quasi feudal relations in this particular area of Hellenism for a number of years later. Taking into account the archive sources, this study attempts to record the most important Articles of the Ionian Civil Law and examines mainly the effects of the related legislation in both the economic and social life of the lonians.
