Abstract:
In this paper we focus our attention on the evaluation of the role of collateral in the business financing decisions of commercial banks. We examine the significant changes related with the role of collateral and what is their impact upon the bank's business financing decisions. Changes taking place within the banks' organizational structure, are also taken into account. Finally the conclusions drawn are strengthened by the answers of the interviewed bank managers from the area of Thessaloniki.
