Abstract:
The main goal of this paper is first to identify the fundamentals and practices applied in Reverse Logistics and more particularly for the returns of the bulky electrical appliances from the households to the recycling centers after the end of their life. A second goal is to reveal the possibilities to apply a holistic strategy towards their effective management and sustainable development. The research of this paper is completed with a survey including 71 Municipalities in Attica region that has concentrated about half of the total population of Greece. It is expected to enlighten the problems emerged from current applied practices together with the opportunities for collaborative synergic action and exploitation of all the available knowhow towards urban sustainable development.
