Abstract:
This paper is a brief presentation of D. Kalitsunakis' library which isnow part of the University Library in Ctete, Rethimno. Kalitsunakiswas a prominent figure in the interwar greek economic thought andhas substantially affected the evolution of economic theory and greekeconomic policy through his work and public action. His collectioncovers a very long period of modern Greek history from the beginningof the 20th century to 1960s and includes a huge variety of books,leaflets, economic reports and demographic data, magazines and revues,official government reports related to the areas of statistics, economichistory, political economy, philosophy and sosiology. The variety ofmaterial included in D. Kalitsunakis' library is of great interest notonly for the study of Kalitsunakis' work but also for the study of thevarius economic and political ideas that affected the formation and evolution of modern Greek society during the first half of the 20th century.
