Abstract:
The katholikon of the Kleinou monastery is a cross-in-square church of the Athonite triconch type, between the two-columned and simple tetrastyle type, with side choirs and a two-domed narthex to the west. The parabemata and the western corner bays are covered by vaults along the transverse axis of the church and the west cross arm is covered by a blind stilted dome. The church has a wood-carved altar screen and wall paintings dated to the second half of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century. There is, furthermore, an inscription on the lintel of the entrance written in three languages (ancient Greek - modern Greek - Vlach), as well as a long inscription with the biography of Paisios II, Bishop of Stagoi, in the conch of the diaconicon.
