Abstract:
The church of the Virgin Pantabasilissa at Trigleia in Bithynia, which has been dated by the method of dendrochronology to shortly after 1336, is a peculiar variation of the composite four-columned cross-in-square type, which is distinguished by obvious experimentation. The narthex was unified with the naos. Singular experimentation is also evident in the synthesis of the facades of the church, as well as in the articulation of its interior.
