Propertius is a lyric poet with a remarkable ability to represent andillustrate the world of sentiments.In this study an attempt is made to examine the beginning and the endof Propertius' first book called Monobiblos. The poet succeeds in givingunity to his book though he apparently works superficially differentthemes, which actually have a common focus on the subject of love. Herepresents the substance of the human being dealing with personal orhistorical events of great importance.
