Abstract:
This article examines the existence of proverbs or proverbial phrases in some byzantine or hagiological tets. These phrases, which are comparatively examined with similar examples from the popular tradition of, mainly, the greek people, maintain popular perceptiveness gathered by religious texts. It is deduced that the ecclesiastical oration enriches the thought of the congregation, not only with ideas, but also with a sense of lingual expression. It indicates simultaneously, once more, the existence of folklore influences on hagiological texts of nonpopular originand its mixing with elements of the literary tradition of the byzantine times.
