This article presents the comparison of the Analytic Curriculum for Modern Greek as a second/foreign language developed by the Center for the Greek Language to the Curriculum for Modern Greek Language in use in the Greek schools. Although this comparison concerns curricula of a different nature, it was judged necessary, because students in the schools of the Diaspora following the Curriculum of the Greek schools are prepared for the examinations of the Certificate of Attainment in Greek. Thus, this research is hoped to be helpful for teachers and students in the schools of the Diaspora. Our work hypothesis was that there is one- to-one correspondence between their levels. This hypothesis was only partly verified. The similarities and the differences of the two curricula are indicated and a more complex correspondence between their levels is proposed.
