This paper deals with the peculiarities of the literary style ot Andreas Kalvos Specialemphasis is given to the relationships between originality of metaphorical language andits grammar and syntax In this sense, highly inventive metaphors sometimes owe theiroriginality to the combination ot words used rather than to the image they convey Thediscussion is based on several metaphors from various poets, conveying similar imageswhich, however, differ in terms of originality The comparative examination of thesemetaphors leads to the conclusion that metaphors are unique to the text they occurThe syntax and surface structure ot metaphorical language plays a major role in theanalysis proposed in this paper.
