An important percentage of pupils with learning disabilities in Mathematics face difficulties in memorizing multiplication and division tables of one - digit integers. In this article, an experimental teaching approach is presented, aiming at the comprehension of multiplication and division and the memorization of the corresponding tables. The results of this alternative teaching approach are evaluated by comparing students' performance in doing multiplications and divisions of integers. The performance of a group of 10 -11 years old pupils with learning disabilities, taught by this alternative experimental teaching approach (experimental group) is compared with that of another group of pupils, who were taught in the conventional way (control group). The outcome of this experimental teaching approach was that the experimental group's performance in doing multiplications and divisions was better than that of the control group.
