The principle of analogy in the formation of female professional substantives of Modem Greek : a cognitive approach

Following a thorough examination of the process of forming female professional substantives in Modern Greek, the author, applying the principles of cognitive linguistics, discerns, among the various formative patterns, a tendency towards a morphological equalization of the female and masculine forms. The analogical forms follow some stable patterns which ensure symmetry and clarity of the system.
