No evil is unmixed with good

Analyzing various positions on moral judgment, from Aristotle to Shakespeare and from medieval times to the present day, the author reaches the conclusion that one given situation may be assessed, logically, philosophically and morally, in many different ways, according to the cultural, social and historical context involved. Even in cases where an event is clearly negative in character, there is always hope that it might be reversed. Thus the old saying “No evil is unmixed with good” retains its value in all cases.
