Nicodemos Kappos of Patmos (1820-1895), one of the last post-byzantine hymn compositors, who was a monk in the Convent of St John the Theologian, was distinguished for his erudition in classical studies, ancient Greek language and hymnography. The author presents a hitherto unpublished text, from a codex preserved in the Convent of Patmos. This text, which completes the “Office of the glorious Apostle Saint Thomas”, constitutes a token of Nicodemos’ religious fervor and exceptional literary talent.
