An unusual folktale in a variant from the Mani

The article examines an unusual folktale entitled «The Little Pot» (To Τσουκαλάκι). This folktale, whose hero is a child, who is also an object, is widely known on the island Karpathos Island. Although of extraordinary small size, the hero succeeds in performing deeds. Since he is also a kitchen utensil, his small size makes a grotesque impression on the reader or listener.A variation of the tale deriving from the Mani displays some differences that deserve comment and cause us to compare this version with those from Karpathos.
