The application of the paleoenvironmental analysis of sedimentary facies in the prehistoric research

Paleogeographic reconstructions of coastal changes are thought to be crucial for the historical and archaeological records. This paper represents an overview of the main techniques which are followed for the interdisciplinary linkage of the archaeological record with the geological record and the geological processes. Apart from the methodology of the sedimentary facies analysis and the paleoenvironmental interpretation some important examples of the coastal geology and the paleogeographical reconstruction are presented.
