Roman marble statues from Cephallonia

Here are presented three marble statues of youths which were found on the sea-bed near Lixouri in Cephallonia. They date to middle 2nd cent. A.D.The statues are of local workshop with a lot of elements borrowed from the classical and hellenistic tradition. All three represent shepherds without being possible to identify them with any particular person or deity.
