In 1998, has found a Villa Rustica in Toumba Thessaloniki. It is about farmhouse of roman age with storage area, laboratories and residence places.The design is simple. Around a paved yard are the rooms and the laboratories.The functionality and the self-sufficiency of the place, in combination with the presence of the building outside the walls (extra muros), they let us to the conclusion that we have a Villa Rustica. The main period of inhabitation must been placed at the years of Gordian III (238-244 A.D.) and the destruction of the building at the years of Philip I (244-249 A.D.).
