In this tribute we present four texts that reveal the connectionbetween applied educational techniques and specific theoreticalapproaches.• In the first text, if you are familiar with Freire’s ideas, you willrealize their unbreakable bond with the practices heproposes.• Two exercises follow, which are presented by Brookfield inhis website and they concern the process of dialogue in adulteducation. It is obvious that Brookfield believes that theseexercises emanate from the ideas of Althusser, Foucault,Marcuse. You can check the validity of his statement byreading the books of those three thinkers, which you canfind in the bookshops.• The fourth text is an essay which was completed with greateffort and genuine interest by three adult educationpostgraduate students. The essay attempts to interlink andeducational exercise to the ideas of Kolb and Mezirow.
