Abstract:
Over the last decades migration has altered the economic and social landscapeof Greece. Key migrant flows triggering this transformation were the massivemigrant inflows that commenced with the collapse of socialist regimes in Centraland EasternEurope in the early 1990’s, the return flows provoked by the severeeconomic crisis affecting Greece since 2008, and the outflows of Greek nationalssparked by the same recession. Some of the main economic and social consequencesof these flows are examined in this paper.
