Abstract:
Three helmets of Roman fabrication and origin are described; they were found at sites in Central Greece and today arc in the BronzeCollection of the National Archaeological Museum. Two came from Kopaida (nos. 1 and 2, f i g s. 1-3), and the third (no. 3, f i g s.4-5) probably from a shipwreck. There is also mention of a fourth one (f i g. 6) probably from Locris, which was noticed in an Athensantique shop. They all belong to the same type o f helmet (Monlefortino Type), similar to the one found in Thesprotia and recently published by A. Choremis (ΑΛΑ XV, (1982), 590. and are witness to the presence of Roman legions in Greece (3rd-2nd c. B.C.).
